Giovanni Scardoni

Born on 24th April 1988, this guy loves music since he was a little child. At the age of 10 he decided by himself to increase this passion starting to play guitar.

After about 18 months of classic guitar, he got his first electric guitar when he was 12 and started playing so much every day following the peculiarities of his favourite metal bands like Pantera, Metallica and Iron Maiden.

Through those years he discovered the world of music playing different styles, from heavy-classic metal (like Judas Priest, Manowar) to progressive and power (e.g. Dream Theater and Stratovarius),  taking guitar lessons, at first, from Andrea Sarasini (C.S.M. Verona) for a year and then Cristian Montagnani (Accademia Musica Moderna) for a couple of years, passing two courses.

Meanwhile, he began playing in many different bands of Verona and this let his passion for music growing bigger and bigger, starting being influenced by artists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and, of course, the god of guitar Yngwie J. Malmsteen.

In 2005 he started taking lessons from his current master Andrea Martongelli, who taught him the finest art of shredding and opened his mind to each sides of music (particularly Blues, funky, jazz and 60-70th rock).

Now he’s also taking lessons from rock-fusion guitar player Daniele Valle (Accademia Lizard Brescia), in the same time is attending DAMS in Padova and is playing in three differents bands of Verona: Chrome Steel (heavy-metal cover band), his dirty-street hard rock band and now Ground Control.

He collaborates with the “Accademia Lizard Brescia” too, teaching guitar at “Musician Art  Accademy” of Negrar (Verona) and giving private lessons to his students.

His maximum influences are: Yngwie J.Malmsteen, his favourite, Nuno Bettencourt, Eddie Van Halen, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, JIMI HENDRIX, Paul Gilbert, Zakk Wylde, George Lynch, Steve Morse, Gary Moore and all Blues guitarists like B.B.King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Albert Lee, Eric Clapton, Robben Ford…..
